Master of Arts in Teaching

The Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) degree is for individuals planning to continue a teaching career, who desire to pursue course work in a discipline in order to improve teaching proficiency, and who want to update their knowledge and proficiency in the use of research as it relates to their teaching areas. The program is available only to individuals who hold a valid teaching certificate.   M.A.T. degree candidates may major in the following mathematics and science fields: Biological Sciences, Mathematics, and Physics.  An Interdisciplinary M.A.T. program for teachers of grades 4-10 is in development.

Tuition Scholarships for these programs are available for those participating in the  COSMOS DREAMS program and also through the Mathematics Department.
